STORY SUMMARIES IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
THE BARON - Whilst visiting an old army buddy in a faraway town, war veteran, Alan Turner, runs into his arch nemesis; the man who underhandedly stole his fiancée. Before he can beat his nemesis to death, however, he informs Alan that his former fiancée was recently abducted is now in the clutches of an evil baron. Desperate to save her, Alan sets out with his friend and his friend's moderately insane wife to rescue her.
THE RAGE OF THE PHOENIX - When the UK Government decided to inflict a privatised police force on many of its larger cities, the people of those cities suffered greatly. Focussed only on profits, these corrupt companies hired cheap thugs for policemen then sat back, counting their money. Making the most of this lack of proper policing, a violent gang then rose to prominence, further deepening the people's suffering. Something needed to be done. Someone needed to rise up and fight. Eventually, someone did. Ne'er-do-wells, beware the rage of The Phoenix.
THE LONG WALK HOME -At last, the war that had raged on for seven long years was finally at an end. All that remained now was for the soldiers to return to their homeland and celebrate. And most of them did. A small group, however, woke up late to find their units had already shipped out and they'd have to make their own way back. Abandoned in a country still bitter about losing the war, the return home would not be easy!
THE FAILING FIVE - Pariah is a harsh term, but when five students from Highshaw Military Academy become the first in its history to fail to graduate, that's exactly what they become. Having brought shame on the academy, their punishment would be severe. The consequences? Worse. Left facing a gauntlet of death as they try to cross a war torn city, they can only rue signing up for the academy in the first place.
